Dementia Care

St. Patrick's Residence Nursing and Rehabilitation takes a holistic approach and works as a team to insure that the resident’s needs are being met. We are also available to help the family through this difficult time. Our spiritual and psych-social care is all part of the service we provide for both the resident and their family. St. Patrick's Residence provides care for all stages of dementia. In the early stages, independence is promoted through physical exercise programs and mind-stimulating activities. Spiritual needs are addressed through daily Mass and Communion. Around-the-clock nurses and CNA’s are available to monitor the needs of the individual.

Love, Respect and Dignity...

During the later stages of dementia and Alzheimer’s disease, all activities of daily living are addressed with love, respect and dignity. We continue to maximize independence as much as possible. Feeding, dressing, bathing and personal care assistance are provided as needed. Measures of comfort are also considered such as seating and positioning, special mattresses and preventative skin care. Communion continues to be offered if the resident is able to participate. Pastoral care staff is available to listen and comfort both residents and families of all faiths.
